Description: Very twisty section of North Carolina NC 80 from Hwy 70 to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Lots of elevation change (I want to say about 2000 feet climb to the BRP.) 2015 the lower section is being prepared for resurfacing with the upper section apparently scheduled to be done this year also. The upper section that isn't being prepared yet for resurfacing is actually in quite good condition, however the patches being applied to the lower 1/3 of the road warrants reduced speed in the corners. Some very tight corners, also there are some logging trucks that use this road, however traffic generally light. Some of the best "back-to-back-to-back" corners I've ridden. Easy to get into a nice rhythm. Speed limit is not overly restrictive, nor have I seen LEO's on the road. |
